Thanks to everybody who responded to my video card query. Mark Hahn makes a good case for Matrox G200 and Riva video cards, especially the G200. But, john.hohm is sceptical that Creative will write any Linux 3D game API's for Matrox. If I'm to wait for Mesa to support G200 or Riva, then, I guess that I'll wait less if I get a TNT card. Another solution is to use windoz for games until Linux has what I want. In which case, the TNT card is faster than the G200. I don't have any professional need for 3D. I can't afford the equipment for professional 3D. But, I would like to have some decent 3D capability. And very importantly, I hate slow machines. I'll get some 3D software and experiment with it. Maybe, I'll do something usefull with it. I'll get some 3D games and play them a little. Maybe, this experience will become part of my Masters project in a year or so. AL
