Any ideas why double buffering in video memory is actually slower? Perhaps your display routine is complicated and it is slower on the PCI bus than in memory. What is your system, what is it you draw, and what do the vga speed test demo programs show? The fastest way would be to have PCI bus mastering, IMO, but that hasn't been implemented yet.
