draw a 256 grayscale bitmap in all color mode

I want  to draw bitmap.
My question is grayscale.
I got 256 grayscale ( bitmap date scope 0-255 ).

In true color mode I directly to render it ( the bitmap value ).
How to render the bitmap in 256 color , 32K color.
( bitmap value / ? )
